Scholarly Notes 10/5/2006: "Headdress. Used a variety of scrap buffalo fur pieces. Horns were attached with a packing cord onto rawhide. Stitching is non native. Lined with green fabric, using white cotton thread with a whipstitch - messy. Commercial tanned thongs. There used to be a string holding the horns together, there are holes drilled into the horn tips." - Don Tenoso, Lakota Sioux, Artist, 9/1/2006 Quality of workmanship and materials—especially cotton lining, white thread, and split leather laces—suggest a 20th c. date of manufacture. - D. Schrishuhn, 5/26/99 Made by Reginald Laubin. - A. Fox, 5/27/99
