Scholarly Notes 11/8/2004: On Laubin VHS Tape 45 at time counter 16:53. The information below is what Reginald Laubin said about the artifact. "Item #589 and Item #590 (1996.24.0589 and 1996.24.0590) – “Pair” of Backrests - 589 = 1996.24.0372 o red and natural - 590 = 1996.24.0371 o red and yellow - Indian made, Cheyenne - These look like a pair, one is painted yellow, one is natural color - Got from Walter Campbell, don’t remember when - Woman sometimes made the backrests, but made for the men - Now plywood is used, can’t roll them up" Tape reviewed and object identified by Carol Kussmann, 7/2004. - CRK
