Research Remarks

Published Description N/A
Scholarly Notes Third Intermediate: XXI-XXVI Shape of bag/basket is similar to Third Intermediate forms. Presence of bag at back and hoes only dates to late-18th to 24th Dynasties. This narrows date of object between 21st-24th Dynasties (1069-712 BC) of the Third Intermediate Period. Terms used in visual description and dating method as per Stewart (see biblio). Material description is marked faience, but Stewart notes an oddity peculiar to some pottery shabtis is crooking of the feet and ankles. This suggests that further research is needed to determine if object is really made of Egyptian faience or pottery. -R. de la Noval, 28 Jan 1998
