Scholarly Notes 6/8/2009: "On 09/05/2002 Wayne Pitard wrote, 'This tablet provides an administrative report of the amount of work done by working harvesting barley. Ur III (21st C. BCE), from Umma. 24 male workers harvested barley. Each worker cleared 30 sar. 2 male workers drove the oxen. Inspected on the first day at the Latur field. Foreman: Ur-mes. Sealed by Ur-shul. The month of cutting barley. The year after Enmahgalanna was installed (as en-priestess of Nanna at Karzida--Amar-Sin year 5, ca. 2041 BCE).'" - Erin Hayes, Registration Assistant, 06/08/2009 One of 1732 Sumerian Clay Tablets. The tablets were probably not baked originally, but in 1980, George W. Conlee in Ceramic Engineering baked 1751 pieces from the collection. I have not yet accounted for the numerical discrepancy here. The number on the piece is the old WHM number.(See also 1913.14.0001)
