The Museum welcomes Gene Tagaban to our 10th annual family concert of Winter Tales, a celebration of American Indian storytelling to be held on February 4. Of Cherokee, Tlingit, and Filipino heritage, Gene has been a featured teller at the National Storytelling Festival in Jonesborough, Tennessee, and performs in the films Shadow of the Salmon and Sherman Alexie's The Business of Fancydancing. He and his work have been described as "a delight and inspiration to the human spirit." Gene will present a family storytelling concert in the Knight Auditorium at 2 PM. Admission is $5. There are no advanced ticket sales.

Gene's foremost passion is teaching. Using his gift of storytelling, dance, and music, he travels across the country performing, presenting, and facilitating workshops for all ages on suicide prevention, empowerment, leadership, relationship-building, communication skills, self-awareness, spirit and honor. For Winter Tales, Gene will present the workshop The Storyteller's Journey at 9 AM. Registration is required. The workshop fee is $30 for adults and $20 for students.
