Coming to the University as a first-time student can be an
overwhelming experience. The orientation days, called I-
Start, are filled with moving into dorms, meeting new
people, learning about campus safety, finding your classes,
and a million other details. This year, the orientation
committee decided to add a new event, I-Celebrate, that
would add fun and entertainment to the mix, as well as
highlight the cultural diversity of the University. |

The three-hour I-Celebrate event featured concerts in three
locations: short performances in the Amphitheater at the
Krannert Center for the Performing Arts and the Knight
Auditorium at the Spurlock Museum, as well as hour-long
performances on an outdoor stage on the street separating the
two buildings. Performers included nationally known
performers like Vinx, UIUC alumna Jenny Choi, and local
favorites Desafinado, The Other Guys, the Ghungroo Dance
Company, and UC Hip Hop. |
