The SMALL...

Really neat animals come in small packages...

Kindergarten and first grade students learned the advantages and disadvantages of being small animals in this Saturday Safari.

Students practiced being six different animals: hummingbirds, poison dart frogs, shrews, moles, armadillos, and hedgehogs.

Students learned through games, activities, and demonstrations. They played poison dart frog hot potato, constructed their own hummingbird feeders, pretended to be moles in a mole tunnel, and played a food gathering game.

Saturday Safaris are offered monthly for grade school students by the Education staff at the Spurlock Museum.
