For the Senfuo-Tagba, the word ngoni may refer to any stringed instrument. The donzo (hunter’s) ngoni, however, is a stringed instrument that is played almost exclusively by male members of the Hunter's Society. It is similar to the hunter's harp of the neighboring Wasulu people in Mali. The kora, common through the Mande region of West Africa, is also similar, but unlike the donze ngoni, it used to accompany griots singing for noble patrons.
